There’s something magical about food by the sea — the salt in the air, the sound of waves in the background, and plates piled high with flavors that tell stories of a place. From 22–24 August, Hua Don Beach in Khao Takiab will transform into a glowing playground of taste, light, and music as the Hua Hin Food Festival 2025 makes its return.

This isn’t just another food event. It’s a celebration of Hua Hin’s spirit, a chance to showcase the city’s culinary creativity while drawing visitors during the quieter rainy season. Organized by Hua Hin City Municipality in collaboration with local partners and hotel chefs, the festival is shaping up to be one of the highlights of the year.
Flavors That Speak Hua Hin
More than 100 booths will line the beach, offering everything from steaming bowls of local favorites to signature dishes from Hua Hin and Cha-am’s finest hotels. Think freshly grilled seafood, spicy curries, refreshing drinks, and indulgent desserts — all served at special festival prices.
But the true centerpiece is on opening day, when chefs will prepare a spectacular 88 kg “Stir-fried Prawns with Salt and Chilli” in 88 pans. The dish pays tribute to the 88th anniversary of Hua Hin’s municipal founding, and yes — everyone gets a taste.
A Festival That Dares You to Join In
It’s not just about tasting. It’s about doing. Guests can take part in a flurry of competitions — fruit and vegetable carving, cooking showdowns, and plate presentation challenges. The “Som Tam Lila” papaya salad-making contest is bound to get messy and fun, while bartenders flip bottles and glasses in dazzling flair competitions.
Workshops invite visitors to step behind the scenes: try mixing your own cocktail, or paint a tote bag at the arts-and-crafts zone, creating a keepsake that will outlast the weekend.
Nights That Sparkle
As the sun dips below the horizon, Hua Hin Food Festival takes on a whole new energy. Picture this:
Musical fountain shows splashing in rhythm with lights four times a night.
Fireworks bursting at 8 p.m., lighting up the coastline.
Romantic hot air balloon rides between 6 and 10 p.m., carrying couples and families above the glowing beach.
A “Million Lights” installation bathing the sand in a magical glow until midnight.
And when the lights dim, the music rises. Mini-concerts will feature some of Thailand’s best-loved performers: Singto Numchok on opening night, The Richman Toy on the 23rd, and the soulful Aof Pongsak closing things out on the 24th. Each performance runs from 10–11 p.m., the perfect soundtrack to a night by the ocean.
New Experiences in 2025
This year’s festival also introduces dazzling new zones designed to make the experience even more immersive. For food lovers seeking something beyond Hua Hin, regional chef battles will bring flavors from Thailand’s North, Central, South, and East together in a delicious culinary face-off. It’s not just a festival — it’s a journey across the nation’s kitchens in one place.
What makes the Hua Hin Food Festival truly special is its inclusivity. Entry is completely free, welcoming locals, expats, and travelers alike. Whether you come for the food, the music, the lights, or simply the atmosphere, you’ll leave with a sense that Hua Hin is more than just a beach town — it’s a place where food and culture come together under the stars.
