Today’s list runs from a cut-off date on the old beachfront to a long weekend of food and music. The lead story is the Sheraton Hua Hin lease lawsuit, which has its own report.

Thursday is deadline day

Two things land on 29 October. Water and electricity to the buildings being cleared between Hua Hin Fishing Pier and the Chao Mae Thap Thim Shrine are due to be cut, Thaiger reports. Our running timeline tracks the rest.

The Revenue Department’s consultation on the ฿1,000 departure tax also closes that day, as we explained. Thai Examiner reports that sources close to the finance minister say the government is preparing to drop it. No formal withdrawal has been announced.

Pran Buri chef takeover on Saturday

Chef X Attapol Thangthong cooks at Luna La Pran on Saturday 31 October. The beachfront restaurant is part of Sheraton Hua Hin Pranburi Villas, and the hotel’s release describes him as executive chef at Bangkok Marriott Hotel The Surawongse. It lists dishes built on local produce, including Pranburi white prawns, black crab curry and a pineapple fried rice.

Special menu items start from ฿220++ a dish. Reservations go through LINE (@sheratonpranburi) or 032 909 900.

Glamping Festival lineup

The Glamping Festival runs on 6 and 7 November at Arena Hua Hin Sports Club. The Holiday Inn Vana Nava page names Little John, Fellow Fellow, Burin, ETC, JSPKK, URBOYTJ, Oat Pop Art, Zeal, Lomosonic, Polycat and Youngohm among the acts.

The hotel sells a two-night package from ฿9,699 that includes two festival tickets, bookable until 31 October. The page gives no price for tickets on their own, so check with the organisers before assuming a package is the only way in.

Free beach festival in December

Hua Hin Beach Life runs from 18 to 20 December at Hua Don Beach, Khao Takiab, and entry is free. It is the last leg of the Tourism Authority of Thailand’s Amazing Multi-Racing Festival series, Pattaya Mail reports, after Songkhla and Phuket.

Expect stand-up paddleboarding, food stalls, beach fashion, workshops and live music from artists, local bands and DJs. It is already in our events calendar.
