Hua Hin Briefing: Saturday 7 November
A rain warning with little rain behind it, two dead whales on the Gulf coast, a wellness shop at Dusit Thani, hospital and insurer talks, e-gate rules for arrivals, and tonight’s plans.
Saturday’s notices run from the weather to the whales, with a wellness opening, a hospital meeting and a change at Suvarnabhumi in between. The last item covers tonight.
Rain warning, light gauges
The Meteorological Department lists Prachuap Khiri Khan for heavy rain through Monday, but Hua Hin’s gauges had logged little by Saturday morning. Our full report has the gauge chart and a day-by-day table. The next notice is due at 5pm.
Dead whales off Cha-am and Bo Fai
Officials hauled one dead Bryde’s whale ashore at Laem Phak Bia on Friday, and a fisher’s video shows a second drifting from Cha-am toward Bo Fai. Necropsy results are pending, and the officials quoted cannot yet say whether the two deaths are linked. We set out what each report says.
Devarana opens a wellness shop
Dusit Thani Hua Hin has opened Devarana Wellness Shop on the hotel’s lobby level, selling body care, essential oils and wellness products, according to a press release carried by the Bangkok Post. It is open daily from 9am to 7pm, and the hotel’s number is +66 (0)-32-520-009, extension 2073. The release says the hotel spa ranked ninth in Thailand’s Best Hotel Spas in the Travel + Leisure Luxury Awards Asia Pacific 2026. That is the hotel’s own claim.
San Paolo meets 11 insurers
San Paolo Hospital Hua Hin hosted 120 representatives of 11 life insurers on 5 November, according to Banmuang. The hospital says it has refurbished its outpatient, paediatric and inpatient areas and added keyhole surgery for gallbladder, appendix, hernia, knee, shoulder and spine cases. Its director says the hospital, Hua Hin Hospital and Bangkok Hospital Hua Hin cooperate on emergencies such as heart attack and stroke. If you are insured, ask your insurer which hospitals offer direct billing.
E-gates now cover 33 passports
Thailand’s Immigration Bureau opened its automated arrival gates to travellers from 33 countries and territories on 18 September, up from two, under Order No. 196/2026, Khaosod English reports. A total of 94,760 people used them by 31 October. Suvarnabhumi has 39 arrival gates, and Don Mueang and Phuket are next. A follow-up piece says first-time visitors and holders of non-immigrant visas, including the DTV, still queue at a desk. Eligible travellers get an email after registering the Thailand Digital Arrival Card.
