Monday opens with the next legal step in the beachfront demolition, a clean-up after the monsoon swell, and a worrying set of hotel figures. The week ahead is at the end, and the events calendar has the detail.

Criminal complaints start today

Hua Hin Municipality plans to begin filing complaints at Hua Hin Police Station from Monday 2 November, Hua Hin Localplus reports. They allege breaches of the orders banning use of the buildings and requiring demolition. At a follow-up meeting on 29 October the municipality also said it was considering action on 11 further structures that were originally budgeted for demolition by the port authority. Water and electricity suspensions are being coordinated for worker safety. The full sequence is on our beachfront demolition timeline.

Driftwood and the rain forecast

Municipal sanitation crews cleared marine debris from the beachfront on 30 October, starting at 07:00. High tide blocked access to Soi Hua Hin 71, and rising water at Khao Takiab Beach forced the team to switch location by 09:00, Hua Hin Localplus reports. The municipality says monsoon season is washing driftwood and debris ashore along the whole coast and that cleaning continues daily. The Thai Meteorological Department expected the heavy rain over the upper south to ease from Monday, Channel 7 reports, so expect clearer beach days this week.

Hotel closures up 42 percent nationally

Thailand recorded 148 hotel and accommodation closures between January and September, up 42 percent, while new registrations fell 31.2 percent to 779. The figures come from the Department of Business Development via Kasikorn Research Centre, Hua Hin Localplus reports. Kasikorn expects 31.4 million foreign arrivals this year, 79 percent of the 2019 level, against 876,000 hotel rooms nationwide. The report has no Hua Hin breakdown, so it says nothing yet about local occupancy this season.

Land nominee crackdown: what to know

The prime minister ordered investigators on 19 October to finish high-risk nominee land cases by December. Land offices are to ask about the source of funds on cash purchases above ฿2 million or with an appraised value above ฿5 million, Bangkok Biz News reports. Hua Hin has already had a raid: on 10 August police searched 15 pool-villa sites in Thap Tai, The Nation reports. Buyers of condos within the 49 percent foreign quota are not the target.

The week ahead

Friday 6 and Saturday 7 November bring Glamping Festival 2026 to Arena Hua Hin Sports Club. DJ Shockko plays Bar Tigre in Nong Kae on Friday, and the Deepavali Festival runs at Market Village on Saturday. Loy Krathong follows on 24 November.
